Mark Brennan, Guitar

Mark Brennan earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance from Cleveland State University where he studied classical guitar under the renowned Joseph Breznikar. As a native of the Cleveland area, Mark has been teaching electric, acoustic and classical guitar for over 40 years. He has taught at the Koch School of Music, The Riverside Academy, The Lakewood Music Collective and at his home studio named Story Road. He has helped countless students prepare for performances and recitals and teaching them the techniques to help support their passion to play guitar.

Mark has been performing in various bands, duos, trios and solo regionally since 1975. His current bands are Wish You Were Here, northeast Ohio’s premier Pink Floyd tribute band and Fayrewether, both very successful long time running bands in the Ohio Region – 30 and 50 years respectively. Mark has also led a music ministry at Holy Trinity Church in Avon since 1998.

Mark’s teaching approach focuses on strong basics and technique, reading standard notation and guitar tablature, solid rhythm and music theory. He enjoys teaching anything from Rock, popular music, fingerstyle and classical music to all ages and ability levels. Mark prides himself on his flexible and patient approach to teaching while encouraging students to discover the joy of playing and performing music.
