Lauren Swartz, Violin & Viola
Lauren Swartz is a violist native to the Cleveland area. Through her involvement with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra, she has had the opportunity to work with multiple members of the Cleveland Orchestra. She then went on to earn her bachelor's degree in viola performance from the Eastman School of Music under the instruction of Phil Ying. She also holds a masters degree from the Lynn Conservatory of Music under the instruction of Sheila Browne.
Lauren most recently held a position with the Miami Symphony, as well as the South Florida Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her orchestral work, she was also a finalist for the Lyric Chamber Music Society competition. She has experience performing a large variety of musical genres including classical, movie scores and Latin pop. Lauren has a passion for teaching and was a teaching artist through the "Symphony in the Schools" program which aimed to kickstart music programs in low-income schools. Lauren also served as a teaching mentor for Nat King Cole's "Generation of Hope" music education program. Lauren loves to connect with her students and work towards achieving their musical goals.
