Alex Truver, Guitar

Alex has his bachelor's degree in music studies with a concentration in classical guitar from the University of South Florida (USF), where he studied under elite performer and educator, Dr. Jonathan Godfrey. Alex also studied jazz guitar under LaRue Nickelson, who is renowned as a world-class musician. Alex expresses substantial diversity in his musical ability, with his collegiate training in jazz and classical performance, along with extensive knowledge and ability in genres including  pop, metal, rock, and various Latin styles, as well as general guitar technique.

Throughout his time at USF, Alex performed as a collegiate and professional guitarist. His professional work was largely in musical theatre, where he worked with Asolo Repertory Theatre, the largest equity theatre in Florida and the largest repertory theatre in the southeastern US, as well as Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theatre. As a USF Guitarist, he continuously performed with ensembles including Jazz Ensemble 1, directed by Yamaha Performing Artist Tom Brantley, USF Jazztet, and USF Guitar Ensemble. Furthermore, he had the opportunity to perform in various on-campus gigs, as well as many guest appearances in separate USF ensembles.
