Emily Greitzer, Violin & Viola

Emily Greitzer received her Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance from the Eastman School of Music, under the tutelage of Charles Castleman, and her Master’s of Chamber Music Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Camilla Wicks. She began her studies at the age of four, and, shortly thereafter, toured as a part of a Suzuki outreach program. She made her orchestral debut at age fifteen at the renowned Troy Music Hall.

Emily has since concertized with the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival, North Carolina School of the Arts Festival, as well as participated in the New York String Seminar at Carnegie Hall. As a resident of Austria for two years, she has performed for the Diplomatic Council of Vienna with pianist Albert Frantz. With orchestral work, Emily was a fellow at the New World Symphony and was concertmaster for the San Francisco Lyric Opera from 2006-2007. She has performed with numerous other orchestras including the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, and Opera San Jose.

Over the last 18 years, she has taught violin and viola privately as well as at Opus One Music and the New Mozart Academy in Palo Alto, CA.
