Jacqueline Wood, Flute and Piccolo

Jacqueline often tells people “I have the best job in the world. I get to teach the instrument I love!” Jacqueline received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Baldwin Wallace University. She went on to receive a Master’s in Flute Performance from Cleveland State University, studying under Sean Gabriel, principal flutist of the Blue Water Symphony.

Jacqueline has been a private flute instructor in the Cleveland area for five years, including instructing students who play in ensembles, honors groups, and marching bands. She has coached a variety of small and large ensembles as well, including with the Baldwin-Wallace New Horizons Band. Her teaching philosophy is that all students, regardless of age, skill level, or background, deserves the chance to learn the art of music making and prides herself on her ability to foster confidence, musicality and growth in every student she works with.

She has also been an active member of the musical community in the Cleveland area as a performer. She has played 3rd flute, piccolo and alto flute with the Cleveland Philharmonic, and second flute with the Northern Appalachian Wind Symphony. She also has played flute and piccolo with Near West Theater as a member of their pit orchestra and continues to perform as both an ensemble member and a soloist throughout the Cleveland area.
